§ 58-2. "Local improvements" defined.

  • The term "local improvements," as used in this chapter, shall be construed to mean any one or more of the following improvements:

    (1)

    Streets, highways, boulevards, avenues, squares, lanes, alleys and parks, or any part thereof, may be opened, reopened, widened, graded, regraded, paved, repaved, surfaced or resurfaced, and curbs and gutters may be constructed or reconstructed therein together with necessary storm sewers, drains and catchbasins necessary to and incident in paving of such streets, highways, boulevards, avenues, squares, lanes, alleys and parks.

    (2)

    Water mains, water laterals and other water distribution facilities, including the necessary appurtenances thereto, may be laid or relaid and constructed or reconstructed in any easement dedicated for such purpose or in any street, highway, boulevard, avenue, square, lane, alley or park.

    (3)

    Sanitary sewers, storm sewers and other drains or sewers may be laid or relaid and constructed or reconstructed in any easement dedicated for such purpose or in any street, highway, boulevard, avenue, square, lane, alley or park.

    (4)

    Reclaim water trunk and distribution mains, along with any other necessary systems, may be laid or relaid and constructed or reconstructed in any easement dedicated for such purpose or in any street, highway, boulevard, avenue, square, lane, alley or park.

    (5)

    Sidewalks may be constructed, reconstructed, widened, altered or changed along with any street, highway, boulevard, avenue, square, lane, alley or park thereof.
